Is video creating 2 different types of podcasting?


OK, so of course video and audio podcasts are different.

But I’m seeing signs that the gap goes way beyond “one you watch, one you listen to.”

When we split the 500+ responses to this year's Independent Podcaster Survey out into two camps – those podcasters who make video and those who don't – there were some real notable differences in workflows, outputs and approach too.

If our data is reflecting a bigger industry trend, it's that video is pushing creators to make content differently, not just changing how listeners consume their shows.

So this week, I'm diving into these differences and what they mean for the future of podcasting.
